Standard 5v Regulated Power Supply

For the proper working of every muc based projects a regulated 5v power supply is required. The standard voltage for all the muc( Atmel,AVR,Pic ) are 5v. So i prepared the circuit for the power supply. The circuit for the power supply is below.

Click the circuit for enlarging

The AC mains is stepped down by transformer T1 to deliver the secondary output of 15 volts, 1 A. The transformer output is rectified by a bridge rectifier comprising diodes of IN 4007, filtered by capacitor C1. The diode D1 prevents the flow of current back wards. The capacitor C2 in the I\P filter the supply. Then the 15v dc supply is regulated by IC U1 to provide regulated 5v supply. Capacitor C3 bypasses any ripple in the regulated output. The LED Z1 connected in the O\P by R1 (limits the current) will glow and can use as an indicator.
By changing the value of U1 by 7806 ,7808 ,7812 will give regulated O\P of 6v, 8v and 12v respectively . Assemble the circuit and place the circuit in a suitable case. ( I will updated the circuit of all the regulated power supply in a single pcb. So follow the blog for updation). Standard 5v Regulated Power Supply
